surprise attack on the U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor, which heralded
America’s formal entry into the Second World War, we must remember that the
threat of a far more devastating surprise attack upon the U.S. homeland remains
very real. The Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from EMP
Attack, also known as the Congressional EMP Commission, comprising the foremost
experts in the Free World, warned in 2004 that “Several potential adversaries
have or can acquire the capability to attack the United States with a
high-altitude nuclear weapon-generated electromagnetic pulse (EMP). A
determined adversary can achieve an EMP attack capability without having a high
level of sophistication…It has the capability to produce significant damage to
critical infrastructure and thus to the very fabric of U.S. society, as well as
to the ability of the United States and Western nations to project influence
and military power.” This author previously warned about this catastrophic
threat to the U.S. in an article entitled “</span><span style="font-size: 16.0pt; line-height: 107%; mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><a href="https://nationalinterest.org/blog/the-buzz/americas-achilles-heel-emp-attack-26182" style="cursor: pointer;"><span style="background: white; color: #b22a39; letter-spacing: .15pt;">America’s Achilles’ Heel: An EMP Attack</span></a><span style="background: white; color: #050607; letter-spacing: .15pt;">” published in the
National Interest back in June 2018.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

the existential threat of EMP attack has been overwhelmingly bipartisan. For
example, in 2010, the Democrat controlled House of Representatives passed the
GRID Act by a unanimous vote, which, had it been approved by the U.S. Senate,
would have provided $2 billion to harden our nation’s electrical power grid
against the twin threats of EMP attack and super solar-storms. The subsequent
Critical Infrastructure Protection Act also passed in 2017 with strong
bipartisan support.</span><o:p></o:p></div>

this overwhelming bipartisan consensus regarding the threat of an EMP attack</span>,
freelance reporter Matthew Gault argues in <a href="https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/why-electromagnetic-pulse-attack-emp-attack-just-fake-news-steroids-101902" style="cursor: pointer;"><span style="color: #b22a39;">a 2016 editorial</span></a> that
the threat of EMP is not real. He further claims that EMP weapons have never
been tested before, so no one knows whether or not they would have the
disastrous effects national security experts say they would. However, these
dubious assertions are contested by virtually all of America’s top national
defense and intelligence experts, as well as the bipartisan Congressional EMP
Commission. This is noted in another National Interest article entitled “<a href="https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/millions-americans-could-die-are-we-ready-emp-attack-89926?page=0%2C1" style="cursor: pointer;"><span style="color: #b22a39;">Millions of Americans Could
Die: Are We Ready for an EMP Attack?</span></a>”, where they state that a
comprehensive EMP attack could very well constitute a nation-ending event.<o:p></o:p></div>

<span id="docs-internal-guid-d8939374-7fff-3bab-5fd5-ad004c0cbeb4"><span style="color: #050607; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 16.0pt; letter-spacing: .15pt; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">In another article entitled, “</span><a href="https://www.newsmax.com/peterpry/emp-thermonuclear-weapon/2016/07/26/id/740578/" style="cursor: pointer;" target="_blank"><span style="color: #b22a39;">Defense
Adviser Gets It Wrong on EMP</span></a>,” Dr. Peter Pry, the former Chief of Staff
of the Congressional EMP Commission and one of the top nuclear/EMP experts in
the nation, identifies a number of faulty assumptions in Mr. Gault’s article.
Pry states that the author and Dr. Peter Singer, who is cited in the article,
“do not appear to understand a high-altitude EMP attack would happen
exo-atmospherically, in outer space, so there would be no blast, thermal, or
fallout effects on the ground, only the EMP. So their arguments that blast and
other nuclear effects would be worse than EMP are nonsensical.”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; background: white; margin-bottom: 24pt;">
<span id="docs-internal-guid-d8939374-7fff-3bab-5fd5-ad004c0cbeb4"><span style="color: #050607; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 16.0pt; letter-spacing: .15pt; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Dr. Pry also points out that “they wrongly
assert a high-yield thermonuclear weapon is necessary for EMP attack. The EMP
Commission found any nuclear weapon, even a primitive weapon that terrorists
might build, is a potential EMP threat. Indeed, the greatest EMP threat is from
super-EMP nuclear weapons, that are very low-yield, designed to produce gamma
rays that generate the EMP effect, not make a big explosion.” </span>According
to Dr. Pry, “The yield of a Super-EMP weapon can be very low—10 KT (kilotons,
or TNT equivalent explosive power) or much less, but it could generate much
higher EMP fields (100–200 KV/meter) than a 25 MT (Megaton) weapon (50
KV/meter) of conventional design.”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="background: white; margin-bottom: 24.0pt;">
<span style="color: #050607; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 16.0pt; letter-spacing: .15pt; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Perhaps
the most erroneous claim made in Mr. Gault’s article is that “North Korea does
not yet...possess a missile that can carry a nuclear weapon...to the United
States.” As Dr. Pry points out in his article, “the Defense Department 2015
report Military and Security Developments Involving the Democratic People's Republic
of North Korea warns that North Korea now has nuclear-armed mobile ICBMs, the
KN-08 and KN-14, that can strike the United States.” Pry adds that “t</span>he
EMP Commission, South Korean military intelligence, and China have warned that
North Korea probably has super-EMP weapons.”<o:p></o:p></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; background: white; margin-bottom: 24pt;">
<span id="docs-internal-guid-d8939374-7fff-3bab-5fd5-ad004c0cbeb4"><span style="color: #050607; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 16.0pt; letter-spacing: .15pt; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">He notes that on October 12, 2017 in “North
Korea Nuclear EMP Attack: An Existential Threat,”</span><a href="https://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/2019/03/11/north-koreas-satellites-could-unleash-electromagnetic-pulse-attack/" style="cursor: pointer;" target="_blank"><span style="color: #b22a39;"> EMP
Commission Chairman Dr. William Graham warned Congress</span></a>: “An EMP
attack might be made by a North Korean satellite, right now. A Super-EMP weapon
could be relatively small and lightweight, and could fit inside North Korea’s
Kwangmyongsong-3 (KMS-3) and Kwangmyongsong-4 (KMS-4) satellites. These two
satellites presently orbit over the United States…The south polar trajectory of
KMS-3 and KMS-4 evades U.S. Ballistic Missile Early Warning Radars and National
Missile Defenses.” Dr. Pry states that North Korea could detonate their
super-EMP satellites remotely via an encoded signal. Such an attack would
likely be impossible to trace, and thus U.S. leaders would likely have no idea
who attacked us or which country to retaliate against. Russia and the People’s
Republic of China (PRC) are believed to have such weapons in orbit over the
United States as well.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="background: white; margin-bottom: 24.0pt;">
<span style="color: #050607; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 16.0pt; letter-spacing: .15pt; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Pry
continues in his remarks that, contrary to their assertions that EMP effects
can only occur at some unknown spot in the atmosphere, “any nuclear detonation
at an altitude of thirty kilometers or higher will generate EMP.” In rebuttal
to their claim that, “EMP effects are unreliable and have never been tested,”
Dr. Pry states that “EMP and its effects have been tested for over fifty years
and are better understood than the efficacy of cyber warfare.” While Dr. Singer
claims that a sophisticated ICBM is necessary to conduct an EMP attack, the EMP
Commission has stated that they can be delivered through a variety of means
including satellites, long- or medium-range missile; short-range missiles
launched from a freighter; from some cruise missiles and anti-ship missiles;
from jets or a commercial jetliner; or a meteorological balloon. Furthermore, a
ballistic missile equipped with a super-EMP payload would not need to be
accurate and would not require a re-entry vehicle, heat shield or shock
absorbers.</span><o:p></o:p></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; background: white; margin-bottom: 24pt;">
<span id="docs-internal-guid-d8939374-7fff-3bab-5fd5-ad004c0cbeb4"><span style="color: #050607; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 16.0pt; letter-spacing: .15pt; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Finally, in an attempt to mistakenly
project Western thinking onto our enemies, Mr. Gault mistakenly asserts that no
nation would ever perform an EMP attack because it would result in a nuclear
war. However, as Dr. Pry points out, a study of Russian, Chinese, North Korean
and Iranian military doctrines all make clear that they do not view a low-yield
super-EMP weapon as a nuclear attack but rather they view it as part of a
cyberwar operation that could achieve a decisive victory over the United States
and its allies at minimal cost to themselves. Thus their presumed threshold for
resorting to such weapons would be much lower than ours if the United States.
processed them.</span><o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="background: white; margin-bottom: 24.0pt;">
<span style="color: #050607; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 16.0pt; letter-spacing: .15pt; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">National
security correspondent Bill Gertz published an article in the Washington Free
Beacon back in January entitled </span>“<a href="https://freebeacon.com/national-security/china-russia-building-super-emp-bombs-for-blackout-warfare/" style="cursor: pointer;" target="_blank"><span style="color: #b22a39;">China,
Russia Building Super-EMP Bombs for ‘Blackout Warfare</span></a>.” In it, he
reports that “Several nations, including China and Russia, are building
powerful nuclear bombs designed to produce super-electromagnetic pulse (EMP)
waves capable of devastating all electronics—from computers to electric
grids—for hundreds of miles, according to a newly-released congressional
study.” This study, entitled “<a href="http://www.firstempcommission.org/uploads/1/1/9/5/119571849/nuclear_emp_attack_scenarios_and_combined-arms_cyber_warfare_by_peter_pry_july_2017.pdf" style="cursor: pointer;" target="_blank"><span style="color: #b22a39;">Nuclear EMP
Attack Scenarios and Combined-Arms Cyber Warfare</span></a>,” was written by
the EMP Commission. “Nuclear EMP attack is part of the military doctrines,
plans, and exercises of Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran for a
revolutionary new way of warfare against military forces and civilian critical
infrastructures by cyber, sabotage, and EMP,” the study states. Gertz further
reports that Russia has adopted a new nuclear strategy called “escalate to
de-escalate” a conflict with nuclear arms that the report suggests is tailored
to space-based EMP attacks. The attacks are regarded by enemy military planners
as a relatively easy, potentially unattributable means of inflicting mass
destruction and forcing opponents to capitulate.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; background: white; margin-bottom: 24pt;">
<span id="docs-internal-guid-d8939374-7fff-3bab-5fd5-ad004c0cbeb4"><span style="color: #050607; font-family: "Calibri",sans-serif; font-size: 16.0pt; letter-spacing: .15pt; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Gertz writes that “In a major conflict with
either China or Russia, the first shot in the war could be a space burst of a
super EMP weapon designed to knock out U.S. nuclear command and control and
weapons.” Citing the study, he adds, “A super-EMP warhead, in the possession of
Russia or North Korea, could put at risk the best protected U.S. assets, even
threatening the survival of the U.S. nuclear deterrent.” Gertz cites this
recently-declassified EMP Commission study as stating that one or more Russian
nuclear missile submarines could utilize a relatively small number of super-EMP
weapons in a surprise attack to paralyze U.S. strategic and conventional forces
and blackout the national grid, knocking out US national missile defenses, the
Pentagon command center, NORAD, U.S. nuclear bombers, and U.S. nuclear
submarine bases. Such a comprehensive super-EMP attack could be executed with
very little warning in as little as several minutes from launch. Super-EMP
warheads detonated in outer space would leave no bomb debris for forensic
analysis and thus could destroy U.S. critical infrastructures and kill tens of
millions of Americans anonymously. The study also states that such attacks
could also be used by the Russians to defeat NATO and occupy much of Europe or
by the PRC to knock out Taiwanese defenses and U.S. aircraft carrier groups to
ensure the success of a hypothetical Chinese amphibious invasion of Taiwan.</span><o:p></o:p></span></div>

concluding that, in the event of a comprehensive EMP attack on the U.S.
homeland, up to 90 percent of the U.S. population would die within a year due
to a widespread breakdown of the food distribution system resulting in mass
starvation and an epidemic of starvation-related diseases and related adverse
effects. In his article, Mr. Gault ridicules this estimate as vastly <o:p></o:p></span></div>

entail the U.S. making substantial concessions to Russia and/or the PRC while
rebuilding America’s defenses in order to help ensure a just and lasting great
power peace and successfully avert a Third World War. However, just as it was
folly for past U.S. leaders to believe that America’s enemies would not or could
not attack us before Pearl Harbor, it would be the height of folly for us to
stick our heads in the sand and pretend existential threats like EMP and
nuclear missile attack do not exist, which is why EMP threat deniers such as
Mr. Gault and Dr. Singer must not be heeded. This is particularly the case when
America’s enemies, beginning with Russia, have been successful in developing
super-EMP weapons for the purpose of winning a hypothetical war against the
U.S. in the belief that they could succeed in crippling America’s ability to
retaliate with its nuclear deterrent and thus deliver a knock-out blow at
low-risk to themselves.<o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

all the potential existential threats facing the United States attack including
a full-scale nuclear war or the overhyped unproven threat of man-made climate
change, allegedly requiring a New Green Deal estimated to cost $95 trillion,
EMP attack is undoubtedly the most affordable to defend against with the cost
of hardening the U.S. electrical power grid estimated at only $2 billion. It is
imperative that U.S. leaders act quickly to rebuild America’s shrinking nuclear
arsenal, deploy a comprehensive national missile defense system and harden our
electrical power grid against EMP attack to defend our great nation from
nuclear missile/EMP attack and deter our enemies from ever attempting such
nuclear aggression. It is also important that the U.S. develop its own
super-EMP weapons to provide a more flexible response which could more credibly
deter their use against us.</span><o:p></o:p></div>

This is a power plant, similar to the power plant that supplies you
power now. The power plant must be manned to keep it operating. In this case,
manpower is needed to cut down trees, saw the logs into 1" slabs, break
the slabs up into chunks, dry out and cure the wood (using heat from the
gasifier), feed the hopper, monitor the power output, maintain it, etc.
Just like a real power plant. If I were off grid, It would take at
least three people. Two to forage, and one to be with the power plant. I
sized it to run a neighborhood, because, when SHTF, it will take a lot
of people to run a community, from operating this power plant, to
growing food, providing security, etc.<br />

This is the same guy who built my gasifier. He developed plans to make a gasifier available to anyone. <br />
<br />
So here are a few good <a href="http://www.survivopedia.com/natural-anesthetics-for-humans/" target="_blank">alternative ingested herbal pain killers</a>
used for centuries–still NOT government regulated, at least at this
writing–that will work for you in an emergency, or which also might work
for you instead of expensive GMO prescription drugs you might now be
using, and without the addictive or withdrawal characteristics of
refined opiates.<br />
<em> 1. Wild Opium Lettuce (Lactuca Serriola)</em><br />
WOL is found almost anywhere and in many parts of the U.S. and it is,
ironically, considered to be an invasive weed. The milky latex sap in
the leaves contains the pain killer and looks similar to the sap of the
opium poppy, hence the name.<br />
Usually the O-lettuce sap is scored/scraped/squeezed from the leaves
and stalks and ingested orally or mixed with juice, or made into a tea.
Or even smoked for maximum fast effectiveness. The effect is a whole
body numbing that relieves muscle and joint and inflammation aches and
pains. O-Lettuce also works for bad coughing and helps to induce sleep.
It is known as a safe, effective pain reliever without side effects or
addictive properties.<br />
<em>2.Kava Kava (Piper Methysticum)</em><br />
A healthful tonic/drink made from kava briefly made it into
commercial popularity a few years ago and then quickly faded away. This
was because it was so good that Big Bad Pharma couldn’t stand the
competition and launched a back door bad mouth study campaign falsely
claiming that it was a dangerous substance and caused all the bad side
effects that only their FDA sanctioned pharmaceuticals are ‘allowed’ to
cause.<br />
In fact, Kava Kava is a popular medicinal plant indigenous to
locations like Hawaii and Fiji with a well documented track record for
relieving stress and particularly soothing for headaches and tension
related body and muscle anxiety such as Fibromyalgia with overall
systemic pain reduction.<br />
The University of Minnesota found that Kava contains special
ingredients like Nuciferine which is an anti-spasmotic helpful for
preventing epileptic episodes and other brain disorders. Additionally
this plant is being studied for its potential to reduce the formation
and spread of nascent cancer cells.<br />
<em>3. Blue Lotus (Nymphaea Caerucea)</em><br />
This plant provides a bounty of beneficial pain mitigating attributes
besides its overwhelming natural beauty. Its main pain reduction
properties are used for migraines, severe muscle spasms, Tinnitus, and
also works well for systemic pains like menstrual cramps and various
moderate body aches and tension.<br />
It is not a true Lotus because there are no ‘blue’ members of the
lotus family. It is actually a water lily found mostly in ponds. It’s
potency is increased when combined with an alcoholic beverage and its
muscle relaxation and feeling of well being and euphoric properties are
enhanced to a point where some cultures have used this combination as an
aphrodisiac.<br />
<em>4. Kratum (Mitragyna Specios)</em><br />
A native tree of Thailand, but can be grown in warmer climates like
California or indoors. Kratum, particularly the Red Vein Kratum variety
is often used for severe pain from traumatic injuries like broken bones
or torn muscles. It is compared to Oxycodone in its potency but without
the addiction problems and side effects.<br />
Red vein kratum is so ‘threatening’ to Big Pharma that they felt the
tyrannical need to do something about it–even though it is not a
narcotic or controlled substance–so they had their vitamin Police, the
FDA, launch a raid on a Kratum importer in California to seize many
thousands of pounds from their warehouse in 2014. The authorities got
them on violating a ‘regulated prohibition’ on selling any substance as a
medical treatment without a proper license or other special approval by
the FDA. Similar to what they did with unlicensed Naturopathic
practitioners, or herbologists who prescribe certain vitamins or natural
compounds for their customers.<br />
You cannot directly prescribe anything to anyone, and then sell them
the actual product, if you are not licensed as a doctor or other
specifically licensed or certified professional. If you are a
vitamin/health store you can only inform people –as we are doing here–as
to what you sell is used for, but you can’t specifically and
intentionally prescribe it. This heinous crime is called ‘practicing
medicine without a license’. It’s a grey area and usually only enforced
if somebody complains formally. You are only allowed to ‘practice
medicine’ on yourself if the substance is not illegal.<br />
Kratum is not (yet) illegal and you can still find it at certain
health food stores specializing in organic herbs or online but it might
be selling under a different name so you have to research it. Some so
called head shops also sell it as a form of incense or aeromatic therapy
to avoid unwanted scrutiny.<br />
<em>5. Boswellia and Rhus Toxicodendron</em><br />
Boswellia is an herb widely used in Ayurvedic medicine in India to
treat both forms of serious Arthritis and Rhus Toxicodendron is a
homeopathic remedy derived from poison oak specifically used for
Arthritis conditions that include early morning flare ups but improves
with motion. Taken in complimentary dosage their synergistic effects are
claimed to be highly effective.<br />
<em>6. White Willow Bark (Salix Alba, S.Fragilis, or S.Purpurea)</em><br />
The bark from these willow trees contains the compound Salicin and is
a well known general anti-inflamatory remedy much like common Aspirin.
Maybe because it is where commercial Aspirin comes from, of course not
without typical Big Pharma modifications.<br />
People have been chewing on or making tea concoctions from willow
bark for centuries. It does have blood thinning properties like over the
counter Aspirin so one must know that if they are on prescription blood
thinning medications.<br />
<strong>WARNING! </strong><br />
As with any substance taken internally, there is always a potential
for serious abuse. And if you are on other medications for your pain
problems, of course you must always check with your doctor before taking
any other medications. You know, like if you have <a href="http://www.survivopedia.com/foods-that-slowly-kill-your-heart/" target="_blank">high blood pressure or a heart condition</a>
and want to take vitamins like lecithin, potent omega 3s and other such
alternatives to the Warfarin rat poisons they are currently killing you
with because then your blood might thin out too much? Well, really?<br />
Makes one kind of compelled to ask the insolent question as to why,
then, don’t they just use the natural remedies in the first place? One
doctor told somebody I know that it’s because…’these natural substances
are not yet vetted and approved by the FDA/AMA for their safety and
effectiveness.’ And, of course, they never will be approved. Especially
if they are too common and widespread for Big Pharma and the government
to sequester so they can’t be profitable just by changing a molecule and
getting a patent on it.<br />
So as with anything else you consume, do your own diligence and
research before using any alternative substances. Specifically
concerning proper dosages and contraindications. There’s plenty of info
on the above out there for you to arrive to your own conclusions by
being well informed on the details you need to know beforehand.<br />

Here are some simple estimated survivability statistics of the population one year after the United States is hit with a high altitude nuclear electromagnetic pulse attack. At the end of the chart is the US Census for the year 1860. With all electronics wiped out and almost all electricity gone, life will be like the 1860's again.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE_1nvvlR1EwQ861kN6AmCGTJ_Y_hklsMKu_znK4HPlwxq_p6FzVeqd3_Jmx5mhF3o9GnjJT_m9eWW-dZphVU3etI49tiB9TQvkQFsdELi11GqASxhTkBbEbCQ4FGTPBoHuVamfZd4KXo/s1600/1860+Pop+Comparison.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE_1nvvlR1EwQ861kN6AmCGTJ_Y_hklsMKu_znK4HPlwxq_p6FzVeqd3_Jmx5mhF3o9GnjJT_m9eWW-dZphVU3etI49tiB9TQvkQFsdELi11GqASxhTkBbEbCQ4FGTPBoHuVamfZd4KXo/s1600/1860+Pop+Comparison.png" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Very highly populated areas today in and around the larger cities will see a much lower survival rate due to lack of food and life sustaining drugs and medical equipment, increased crime, rampant murder by gangs, unsanitary conditions, and disease, </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
States with a lower population density may not lose as many people, but all of the above still apply. Even farmers are at risk. When people are hungry, they are only interested in the here and now. They have little concern for the future. Even though the farmer is the nation's best bet for long term survivability, hungry people will kill them simply for what they have in their kitchen pantry.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Whenever you think about wanting to be prepared for a natural or man made disaster, preparing for an EMP whether it came from a HEMP attack or a massive solar flare is the best mindset you can have to best survive any potential situation. Why? Simple. All other disasters can be prepared for from a matter of minutes, like a tornado, to weeks or months in the case of a collapse of the dollar. It could take 10 years or more to recover from an EMP and it will happen in an instant and without warning.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-------</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, if you take a minute before you go to work, or on vacation, or travel on business, or whatever, think about what would happen if all electricity was gone in an instant. How would you eat or drink or survive? How would you get home? Get to your loved ones? How would you protect yourself and your family now and in the future from murderers, robbers, gangs and looters? If you can answer these questions in everything you do, you will be better prepared to handle anything that happens.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
-------</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
"That nuts!" you say. If anything happens, the police and government will protect me. If you think this way, then you don't realize how fine the line of civilization is. The police are only an illusion of safety. First of all, even today an officer can only protect you if he can see or hear you. If he cannot physically see you or hear you scream, he can't help you. You are then on your own. Even with a telephone, they are probably too far to help you right now this instant. 90% of their work is after the assault, trying to find out who did it and try to bring them to justice (another illusion).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In the average community there is only one police officer for every 600 people. There is no way an officer can physically protect all 600 people from murderers, robbers, gangs and looters. It's worse than that though. Here's an example: A small town of 60,000 has 100 officers to protect them. Only 34 of them are on duty though, because there are 3 shifts to cover. That's one officer per 1,765 people, plus all of the people that are visiting the town for whatever reason, good or bad.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's another thing to think about. In whatever disaster, if the officer has a family, guess who he/she is going to want to protect? That would probably not be you. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The right mindset could mean the difference between being the one that survived, or being one of the nine that died, and that death might not be pleasant. </div>

This is a frightening scenario but it can and may very well happen. Here’s why.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
If Iran were to explode a high altitude nuclear bomb above the U.S., an HEMP (high altitude electro magnetic pulse) would be set off and it is estimated up to 90 percent of the U.S. population would end up dying. This is not science fiction; it is a fact. Iran’s military documents describe such a scenario.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
What is nuclear HEMP? A nuclear device set off at high altitude would set off an electromagnetic pulse that would substantially damage or destroy the entire or most of America’s electric grid. The U.S. would be without electric for a year or more. This means we would have no electric, water service, sewer service, refrigeration, heat, communication, hospital service or anything else that requires electricity to operate. What would follow is starvation, chaos and anarchy on a level never before experienced by mankind.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
The issue of a nuclear EMP attack was raised in the final hours of this week’s elections in Israel when U.S. authority<a href="http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/16643#.VSZLxfnF98G" style="-webkit-transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out; color: rgb(49, 138, 136) !important; text-decoration: none; transition: all 0.3s ease-in-out;" target="_blank">Peter Vincent Pry</a> penned a column for Arutz Sheva warning of Iran’s threat to free nations wrote:</div>

A knowledgeable source said that the textbook discusses an EMP attack on America in 20 different places.</div>

Trent Franks</a>, who is leading an effort to protect the U.S. electric grid from an EMP attack, has recently made similar claims based on the document translated by military authorities.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
Once sneered at by critics, recent moves by Iran and North Korea have given credibility to the potential EMP threat from an atmospheric nuclear explosion over the U.S.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
Pry has suggested ways for Iran to deliver a nuclear attack: by ship launched off the East Coast, a missile or via satellite.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
Either way the result could be destruction of all or part of the U.S. electric grid, robbing the public of power, computers, water and communications for potentially a year.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
Iran armed with nuclear missiles poses an unprecedented threat to global civilization.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
One nuclear warhead detonated at high-altitude over the United States would blackout the national electric grid and other life sustaining critical infrastructures for months or years by means of an electromagnetic pulse (EMP). A nationwide blackout lasting one year, according to the Congressional EMP Commission, could cause chaos and starvation that leaves 90 percent of Americans dead.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
Iranian military documents describe such a scenario–including a recently translated Iranian military textbook that endorses nuclear EMP attack against the United States.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
Thus, Iran with a small number of nuclear missiles can by EMP attack threaten the existence of modernity and be the death knell for Western principles of international law, humanism and freedom. For the first time in history, a failed state like Iran could destroy the most successful societies on Earth and convert an evolving benign world order into world chaos”. (end quote)</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
It is reported that Israel has protected much of its electric grid and if attacked by an HEMP it could restore electric within a few days. It has also set up a variety of defenses as well. If Israel can do it, why can’t we.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
To protect America there are two things that should be a top security issue that Congress must address without delay.</div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">
First Iran should not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons or become a threshold nuclear State. Second Congress must quickly pass legislation and funding to ‘harden’ America’s electric grid against an HEMP attack. A nuclear attack can kill thousands; but and HEMP attack could kill millions. </div>
<div style="background-color: #f9f9f9; color: #666666; font-family: 'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif; font-size: 16px !important; line-height: 1.75em; margin-bottom: 10px;">

<span class="dateline" style="clear: none; color: #999999; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; margin: 0px; text-transform: uppercase;">CARACAS, VENEZUELA (AP) – </span>Venezuela will begin installing some 20,000 fingerprint scanners at supermarkets nationwide in a bid to stamp out hoarding and panic buying, which the government blames for long lines and widespread shortages of basic goods.</div>
<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: 0px 0px; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
The oil-rich nation has been selectively rolling out the rationing system for months at state-run supermarkets along the western border with Colombia, where smuggling of price-controlled goods is a major problem.</div>
<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: 0px 0px; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
On Saturday, President Nicolas Maduro said that seven large private retail chains had voluntarily agreed to install the scanners.</div>
<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: 0px 0px; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
"I ask for the the comprehension of all of Venezuela, to understand this problem, because there is a lot of manipulation taking place," Maduro said at the inauguration of a state-run supermarket.</div>
<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: 0px 0px; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
Economists say the effort is bound to fail. They blame decade-old price controls for destroying local manufacturing and attracting smugglers who can resell the goods on the black market and in Colombia for huge gains.</div>
<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: 0px 0px; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
In recent days, those profits have become juicier as a result of Venezuela's tanking currency. The bolivar has slid 35 percent in the past two weeks on the black market and now trades at nearly one-fortieth the official rate used to import food, according to DolarToday, a website that tracks the illegal rate based on currency trades along the border.</div>
<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: 0px 0px; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
The fall of world oil prices by nearly half since November is also diminishing the supply of dollars available to import everything from milk to cars. Crude oil accounts for 95 percent of Venezuela's exports.</div>
<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: 0px 0px; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
As Venezuela's economic crisis deepens the government is increasingly lashing out at its opponents and the United States, which it says is trying to sow instability and set the stage for a coup.</div>
<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: 0px 0px; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
But many Venezuelans point to Maduro. Recent polls say the embattled president has a 22 percent approval rating, the lowest since the start of the socialist revolution 16 years ago by the late President Hugo Chavez</div>
<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: 0px 0px; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
On Friday, a delegation of visiting South American foreign ministers announced that the region would help Venezuela address the shortages.</div>
<div style="background-attachment: initial; background-clip: initial; background-image: initial; background-origin: initial; background-position: 0px 0px; background-repeat: initial; background-size: initial; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 27px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px;">
But many in the opposition expressed dismay that the 12-nation Unasur bloc did not take a tougher stance against the government amid what they say is an impending humanitarian crisis.</div>

Jason Westcott was afraid.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.4em; margin-bottom: 1.3125em; padding: 0px;">
One night last fall, he discovered via Facebook that a friend of a friend was planning with some co-conspirators to break in to his home. They were intent on stealing Wescott’s handgun and a couple of TV sets. According to the Facebook message, the suspect was planning on “burning” Westcott, who promptly called the Tampa Bay police and reported the plot.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.4em; margin-bottom: 1.3125em; padding: 0px;">
According to the <em><a href="http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/crime/informer-not-neighbor-complaints-led-up-to-fatal-tampa-pot-raid/2187316" style="border-bottom-color: rgb(161, 174, 215); border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-width: 1px; color: #27338d; text-decoration: none;" target="_blank">Tampa Bay Times</a></em>, the investigating officers responding to Westcott’s call had a simple message for him: “If anyone breaks into this house, grab your gun and shoot to kill.”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.4em; margin-bottom: 1.3125em; padding: 0px;">
Around 7:30 pm on May 27th, the intruders arrived. Westcott followed the officers’ advice, grabbed his gun to defend his home, and died pointing it at the intruders. They used a semi-automatic shotgun and handgun to shoot down the 29-year-old motorcycle mechanic. He was hit three times, once in the arm and twice in his side, and pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.4em; margin-bottom: 1.3125em; padding: 0px;">
The intruders, however, weren’t small-time crooks looking to make a small score. Rather they were members of the Tampa Bay Police Department’s SWAT team, which was executing a search warrant on suspicion that Westcott and his partner were marijuana dealers. They had been tipped off by a confidential informant, whom they drove to Westcott’s home four times between February and May to purchase small amounts of marijuana, at $20-$60 a pop. The informer notified police that he saw two handguns in the home, which was why the Tampa Bay police deployed a SWAT team to execute the search warrant.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.4em; margin-bottom: 1.3125em; padding: 0px;">
In the end, the same police department that told Westcott to protect his home with defensive force killed him when he did. After searching his small rental, the cops indeed found weed, two dollars’ worth, and one legal handgun — the one he was clutching when the bullets ripped into him.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 1.4em; margin-bottom: 1.3125em; padding: 0px;">
Welcome to a new era of American policing, where cops increasingly see themselves as soldiers occupying enemy territory, often with the help of Uncle Sam’s armory, and where even nonviolent crimes are met with overwhelming force and brutality.</div>

What is a HEMP attack? No, it’s not a bunch of hippies smoking pot on your front lawn. HEMP stands for High-Altitude nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse and is an extreme form of EMP. Any strong enough EMP can damage sensitive electronics that we rely on so heavily today.</div>
<h2 style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: 'Open Sans Condensed', sans-serif; font-size: 28px; line-height: 32px; margin: 10px 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; width: 620px;">
Sources of EMP</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
The most common EMP comes from lightning strikes and normal power surges as equipment is turned on and off. Other natural causes, such as solar flares, can also create an EMP. In 1989 the entire <a href="http://www.futurescience.com/emp/EMP-myths.html" style="-webkit-transition: color 0.2s; border: 0px; color: #0033cc; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; transition: color 0.2s; vertical-align: baseline;">electrical grid of Quebec was shut down</a> in about 90 seconds due to a solar flare that hit on the opposite side of the earth.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Modern electronics with microchips are most susceptible, followed by older transistorized circuits. That’s why we have surge suppressors for computers and other sensitive equipment. But most will not protect against a nuclear EMP attack.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
EMP damages electronics by overvoltage. The EMP induces an extreme voltage into the conductors of small integrated circuits, causing them to arc and break down. In other words, they get fried.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
What many people see as advances in technology also makes us more vulnerable to a HEMP attack. Smaller and more sophisticated electronics are more easily damaged by EMP. And as our society integrates more electronics into everything from the power grid to banking to coffee makers, more of the infrastructure is at risk.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
The threat of a HEMP from a nuke is more sinister and dangerous than lightning. When a nuclear weapon is detonated, it produces a very high EMP that spreads like a “<a href="http://www.eham.net/articles/21592" style="-webkit-transition: color 0.2s; border: 0px; color: #0033cc; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; transition: color 0.2s; vertical-align: baseline;">wall of energy</a>” and will wipe out anything with solid state electronics over hundreds of miles. Commercial surge suppressors and most military-grade units are not fast enough to stop it. Power lines act as huge antennae to carry the pulse even further, knocking out power grids and electronics that are plugged into the wall socket.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
This excerpt from the film <em style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">TRINITY AND BEYOND, THE ATOMIC BOMB MOVIE </em>shows a few high altitude tests conducted by the United States military shortly before the Limited Test Ban Treaty was signed. It is complete with foreboding, dramatic music and even includes a (simulated?) AM radio cutting out during a detonation.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/iyPsIOxMmqY" style="-webkit-transition: color 0.2s; border: 0px; color: #0033cc; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; transition: color 0.2s; vertical-align: baseline;">http://youtu.be/iyPsIOxMmqY</a></div>
<h2 style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: 'Open Sans Condensed', sans-serif; font-size: 28px; line-height: 32px; margin: 10px 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; width: 620px;">
EMP Protection</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
So how do you protect against an EMP attack? There are two ways to do it:</div>
<ol style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; list-style-image: initial; list-style-position: outside; margin: 10px 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Shield the equipment from the EMP</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Harden the electronics so they aren’t susceptible to EMP</li>
</ol>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Shielding is the first and easiest line of defense. Sometimes called a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_cage" style="-webkit-transition: color 0.2s; border: 0px; color: #0033cc; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; transition: color 0.2s; vertical-align: baseline;" target="_blank">Faraday cage</a>, after its inventor, Michael Faraday, an electrically conductive enclosed shield will equalize the electrical charge on the outside, cancelling it on the inside of the shield and protecting the contents.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
A true Faraday cage is made of conductive metals, like copper or aluminum or a properly engineered steel enclosure. The inside of a microwave oven is an example of a Faraday cage. But an adequate electromagnetic shield can be made from galvanized steel or aluminum foil. Bare or painted steel doesn’t work, because rust and paint are insulators.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Most safes and file cabinets will not work to shield against EMP. The entire container must be conductive with no breaks in the electrical path. Gaps will “leak” EMP to the inside, making most containers ineffective. Conductive screen or mesh with fine holes will work, though (like the screen on a microwave oven door).</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
The easiest way to <a href="http://www.futurescience.com/emp/emp-protection.html" style="-webkit-transition: color 0.2s; border: 0px; color: #0033cc; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; transition: color 0.2s; vertical-align: baseline;" target="_blank">shield small electronics</a>, like a radio or laptop computer, is to place them in a heavy duty zip lock freezer bag, then wrap the whole thing tightly in heavy duty aluminum foil. Be sure to seal any gaps in the foil by folding the seams tightly and be careful to avoid puncturing it to prevent EMP leakage. Thicker foil is more tear resistant, but makes no difference in blocking EMP.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
If you do this right, it will work with one layer of each. But for some added insurance add more layers. Add another freezer bag and another layer of foil. Each layer will help to greatly reduce any leakage of EMP if you don’t get it perfectly sealed. Just make sure you alternate layers. If the two layers of foil come in contact, the EMP induced voltage will simply pass from the outer layer to the inner, making the outer layer ineffective.</div>
<h2 style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: 'Open Sans Condensed', sans-serif; font-size: 28px; line-height: 32px; margin: 10px 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; width: 620px;">
Testing Your Shield for Leakage</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
The easiest way to test that you are shielding your device properly is to shield a radio tuned to a strong radio signal. Here are step by step instructions:</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Supplies:</div>
<ul style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; list-style-image: initial; list-style-position: outside; margin: 10px 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Portable AM/FM radio</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Fresh set of batteries</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">2 or 3 heavy duty freezer bags that fit the radio</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Heavy duty aluminum foil.</li>
</ul>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
You’ll also need a strong radio signal supplied by a radio station (don’t try to do it with other radio sources like your cell phone – it will not work properly with week signals – you want tens of kilowatts or more).</div>
<ol style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; list-style-image: initial; list-style-position: outside; margin: 10px 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Install the batteries, make sure the antenna is fully collapsed (in the storage position) and turn the radio on. Start with the FM band.</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Tune the radio to the strongest FM station you can find. If you live in a rural area, you may need to get closer to a station to do this test. Make sure the signal comes in loud and clear with the antenna down.</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Turn the volume up so you will be able to hear the radio through several layers of foil and plastic bags.</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Put the radio in the first freezer bag, fold the bag over tightly and seal it. You should still hear the FM station clearly.</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Next wrap a tight layer of heavy duty aluminum foil around the bagged radio. Make sure the foil sheet is large enough that you can fold the seams at least twice. If you do this right, you should hear the signal drop off to practically nothing.</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">If you can still hear the radio clearly, you haven’t sealed the foil effectively. Try again until you get it right and make sure there are no gaps.</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">If you are unable to shield it with one layer of foil, add more layers alternating the freezer bags with foil until you get no signal.</li>
</ol>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
After doing the test with an FM station, take everything apart and repeat with a strong AM station. You should get the same result (no signal). It may be harder to shield AM than FM, so don’t get discouraged if you have to add more layers.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Make sure you test both AM and FM (the order doesn’t matter). EMP from a nuke is broadband throughout the RF spectrum, so tuning it to both bands is a better test of real conditions.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
After doing your test, unwrap everything and remove the batteries from the radio before sealing it back up. You don’t want find out in an emergency that the batteries leaked and now the radio won’t work.</div>
<h2 style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: 'Open Sans Condensed', sans-serif; font-size: 28px; line-height: 32px; margin: 10px 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline; width: 620px;">
EMP-Hardened Electronics</h2>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
So what do you do if you need access to your radio on a regular basis? Obviously you don’t want it wrapped in foil if you use it every day. One option is to simply buy more than one radio. But there is also another option.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
The solution might be with old technology: vacuum tubes. If you are old enough to remember the RCA repairman, then you probably recognize vacuum tubes or electron tubes. The British call them valves.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Vacuum tubes can withstand EMP thousands of times higher than modern solid-state electronics. A well-built tube radio can be a hardened communication system that will get you through almost any emergency including a HEMP. And if it ever breaks down, it can usually be fixed with just a little basic tube electronics knowledge.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Ham radio operators are known to be the first ones to establish communication during a disaster. And many of them are returning to the use of vacuum tube radios. Tube transmitters are normally run off AC wall current today, but there are easy options to set them up for battery power. Even a set of D-cell and 9V batteries can provide <a href="http://howto.squidoo.com/my-radio-projects" style="-webkit-transition: color 0.2s; border: 0px; color: #0033cc; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; transition: color 0.2s; vertical-align: baseline;" target="_blank">makeshift power for a small radio (scroll down to the battery box project)</a>.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
If you decide to use a solid state power supply with a deep cycle marine battery, just remember to shield the power supply with freezer bags and foil like we showed you above. During normal use you can use the grid to power the radio.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Today tubes are still manufactured in Eastern Europe and China. In fact, there has been a mini-boom of sorts in tube manufacturing for guitar amplifiers and high end audio amps. And fortunately there are large numbers of NOS (New Old Stock) tubes of many kinds still available through online stores and eBay. As long as the seal isn’t broken between the glass and the pins most tubes will last indefinitely.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
Vacuum tubes are far more robust against EMP than any solid state device, but there are still a few precautions that need to be taken to protect a tube radio from EMP:</div>
<ul style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; list-style-image: initial; list-style-position: outside; margin: 10px 0px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Disconnect the antenna when not in use. The antenna not only pulls in the radio signal, but it will also pull in an EMP. Lightning arrestors aren’t enough to prevent a nuke EMP from getting through.</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Disconnect the AC power source when not in use. EMP will travel through power lines just like an antenna. In fact it is best to remove the AC power cord as it will also act as an antenna.</li>
<li style="border: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 0px 50px; padding: 5px 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">Radios powered by AC line voltage need a rectifier to convert AC to DC. Earlier rectifiers were vacuum tubes and are also resistant to EMP. But later models used <a href="http://www.futurescience.com/emp/emp-protection.html" style="-webkit-transition: color 0.2s; border: 0px; color: #0033cc; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; transition: color 0.2s; vertical-align: baseline;" target="_blank">fragile selenium rectifiers</a> that are susceptible to EMP. So look for an older radio that has a tube rectifier.</li>
</ul>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
The best way to learn about vacuum tube transmitters and radios is through a local ham radio club. And you no longer have to learn Morse code to get an amateur radio operator license if you choose to go that far.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
All geekiness aside, there is probably no better resource for communication in any emergency than ham operators. And many of them will be glad to share their expertise to help you set up an emergency transmitter. They are also a good source of electronics education that could be valuable after a major “event.”</div>
<div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #444444; font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px; margin-bottom: 15px; padding: 0px; vertical-align: baseline;">
If you want to learn more about EMP and protecting against it, the best resource I have found on the net is by electrical engineer Jerry Emanuelson on his site <a href="http://www.futurescience.com/emp/emp-protection.html" style="-webkit-transition: color 0.2s; border: 0px; color: #0033cc; margin: 0px; padding: 0px; transition: color 0.2s; vertical-align: baseline;">futurescience.com</a>.</div>

hardenedstructuresofgeorgia.com<br />
<br />
Whether you lose your power from a storm, hurricane, tornado, EMP, or a total economic collapse, having a means to get that power restored quickly can be the difference between getting through the disaster comfortably or living in misery.<br />
<br />
Having a generator can be a big help, but is only as good as your fuel supply. Once that runs out, you're back to primitive living. Unless, of course, you can supply yourself with a relatively limitless supply of fuel that is efficient and renewable.<br />
<br />
The fuel I'm referring to is wood. Not in a conventional sense. You can't build a fire under your generator and expect to get electricity flowing. You can, though, convert that wood into a gas that the generator can use to run the engine.<br />
<br />
This process is called gasification through a process called pyrolysis. You probably performed an example of this as a 9th grade science experiment when you placed a piece of wood in a test tube and cooked it over a fire. You then lit a match and ignited the gas coming out of the tube. The gas is a combination of methane, hydrogen, and carbon monoxide. All of these gases burn and will work well in a generator's engine. It just has to be clean.<br />
<br />
People have been using this 'wood gas' for many years. As a matter of fact, thousands of private and commercial cars and trucks ran on wood gas in Europe during World War II, because fuel was needed to keep the military going. They did this using a gasifier, which is a contained unit that converts wood to a gas.<br />
<br />
There are many people experimenting with wood gasifiers. Just Google it. There are also a hand full of companies that have refined their gasifiers to a point where they can feasibly sell it. They can be built and sized for different applications such as for running a generator, or a car, truck, or even a tractor.<br />
<br />
Below is a set up I put together to provide enough power to run a small neighborhood. I can reconfigure it to run many other things. It's a larger gasifier, built to run large engines. I had this gasifier made for me by Victory Gasworks in Washington State.<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
There are other companies making smaller units from $2,500 <a href="https://practicalpreppers.com/online-shop/power-solutions/gasifier-detail-view">https://practicalpreppers.com/online-shop/power-solutions/gasifier-detail-view</a>, or $4,500 <a href="https://practicalpreppers.com/online-shop/power-solutions/the-l-e-a-f-wood-gasifier-detail-view">https://practicalpreppers.com/online-shop/power-solutions/the-l-e-a-f-wood-gasifier-detail-view</a>, or $6,000 and more <a href="http://www.gekgasifier.com/products/product-overview">http://www.gekgasifier.com/products/product-overview</a>. Victory makes high end units made of all stainless steel and designed to last a lifetime, and they are more expensive <a href="http://victorygasworks.com/">http://victorygasworks.com/</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I suggest that you add a wood gasifier to your homestead prepping list. It will make your life a whole lot easier when you need it.</div>

<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.5pt;">Kevin Freeman, a global financial analyst with expertise in

China, could cripple the U.S. financial system.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; line-height: 16.5pt; margin-bottom: 13.5pt;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.5pt;">It’s not a theory but a “very real reality” that should not be
ignored, he said.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.5pt;">“The real risk is if we go after them with economic weapons,
they come back after us and this creates World War III,” said Freeman, who has
consulted for the Pentagon, CIA and FBI. ”This is a very tough game of
chicken that we’re playing, and Putin is serious.”<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; line-height: 16.5pt; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin-bottom: 0in;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.5pt;">The threat of economic warfare is nothing new. Freeman, who was
hired by the Pentagon as a contractor to investigate the 2008 stock market
crash, believes the economic crisis was the result of a purposeful attack on
the U.S. financial market by a state actor or by financial terrorists. Last
September, <i>For The Record </i>revealed how hostile nations such as
China and Russia <a href="http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/09/18/pentagon-cover-up-for-the-record-reveals-the-buried-details-on-economic-terror-tactics-used-by-china-russia-al-qaeda-against-america/" target="_blank"><span style="border: none windowtext 1.0pt; color: #e91e24; font-family: "inherit","serif"; mso-border-alt: none windowtext 0in; padding: 0in; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;">may have been the instigators of the
2008 crash</span></a> and how a system with substantial growing debt is
vulnerable to such attacks.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="background: white; line-height: 16.5pt; margin-bottom: 13.5pt;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.5pt;"> “Russia is playing a very
good game of Chess and there’s every reason to believe that Russia has thought
this out in advance,” said Vitaly Chernetsky, a Ukraine expert at the
University of Kansas.It’s up to the rest of the world to decide what will be needed
to stop Putin’s momentum, he said.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

about how to disrupt U.S. power and the value of the dollar in the global
market,” a U.S. defense official said. “We’re mindful but I don’t think we’re

<span style="color: #333333; font-family: "Arial","sans-serif"; font-size: 10.5pt;">For the past five years, Putin has promised that he would take
America’s role as the leading global financial mammoth away, vowing to create
alternatives to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. In 2011, he
criticized the U.S. debt load, saying the “U.S. is living way beyond their
means and shifting a part of their weight of their problems to the world
economy.”<o:p></o:p></span></div>

significant drop in foreign central banks’ Treasury bond holdings at the
Federal Reserve. Analysts said they believed the drop was a result of Russia
shifting Treasury bond holdings out of the Fed and into offshore accounts so it
would be able to buy or sell its portfolio if the U.S. and its European allies
imposed economic sanctions over Ukraine.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

We all know the stock market will crash. The record high stock prices today are all artificial: the fake corporate earnings, the Fed pumping $1 trillion a year into the economy (mostly into the stock market, at least indirectly), the fundamental weakness of the economy, and the fact that a significant portion of the money in the stock market is just from people blindly throwing their money into 401(k)s instead of people investing in companies that will actually make an honest profit. That is, the current high numbers in the stock market are not because the companies are worth it; it’s due to the above-mentioned phony bologna.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcByN1khCheQCqvZ6ihRdVtvlHB9qqM6-AlmMdpigF30ols-ilivw6bCguNJQOs3toHc8hSOKlQSJUEd2e4A5RT8j5u8Ndyq7iVWEdlTcH_gXz4WkAsZjgbz8A80AiljPnwotr3u0aex8/s1600/MW-BU310_scary__20140210132547_MG.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcByN1khCheQCqvZ6ihRdVtvlHB9qqM6-AlmMdpigF30ols-ilivw6bCguNJQOs3toHc8hSOKlQSJUEd2e4A5RT8j5u8Ndyq7iVWEdlTcH_gXz4WkAsZjgbz8A80AiljPnwotr3u0aex8/s1600/MW-BU310_scary__20140210132547_MG.jpg" height="224" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #111111; font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22.0049991607666px; margin-bottom: 1.467em; padding: 0px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: 15px;">There are some big differences between 1929 and now, and they relate to how much more devastating a crash would be now. In 1929, we had a fundamentally strong economy. It was largely unregulated. There was no Obamacare, no ridiculous taxes, no EPA, etc. In 1929 the Federal Reserve was not pumping any money into the stock market; now it’s a trillion dollars a year. Another huge difference is that in 1929, very few people were actually in the stock market. Investors in 1929 were almost exclusively the rich. Now most of the country has a 401(k). The destruction of a crash would hit most Americans now, not just a handful of rich people. In 1929, America was far, far different socially. There was no welfare and people were about a 1,000 times more self-sufficient than now. Most people in 1929 lived on farms and could grow their own food and there was no entitlement mentality. Now there is violence when EBT cards don’t work for a few hours in a few areas.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #111111; font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22.0049991607666px; margin-bottom: 1.467em; padding: 0px;">
<span style="font-size: 15px;">I am not a stock trader trying to predict when the market will crash. I focus on the consequences of a crash. What all this means, at least to me, is that the current stock market is much more fake, and the consequences for a crash are much more dire. In 1929, it would have been absurd to think there would be massive riots after a crash. Now, it is widely accepted. In fact, the federal government is actively planning for these riots. Think about that: the government is not only acknowledging rioting after a crash, but is planning on how to deal with it.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #111111; font-family: 'Open Sans', sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 22.0049991607666px; margin-bottom: 1.467em; padding: 0px;">
I think the graph is important to think about. If nothing else, it should kick people into gear when it comes to getting ready for the crash that is coming.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">

Blogger note:<br />
<b>Here's a little VERY valuable hint:</b> Get out of all of the markets, including your IRAs and 401Ks, get out of your CDs and other bank investments, then take all that cash and buy physical GOLD and SILVER and do it NOW! Take the penalties. Keep in mind that when the stock or bond market crashes, it WILL take the whole banking system with it.<br />
<br />
(Or you can just ignore me and lose everything you have accumulated in your lifetime in as little as one single day)<br />
<br />
Still not convinced? If your investments are not currently getting a 16% or better return, you are already losing money in your savings or investments every day. According to the CPI formula of the 1980s, true inflation today is about 15.5%. The gov't has been changing the formula over and over again, pulling out things like food and fuel prices, or anything else volatile enough to increase the inflation number. The FED reports inflation as 2% so they won't have to increase social security benefits or pay higher yields on treasury notes. Don't believe it? Then why does the 20oz can of green beans at the grocery store now weigh 11oz and costs 150% more? Why are most items on the dollar menu no longer a dollar? WAKE UP AMERICA!</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">I know this analogy is a bit dated and I'm sure you or someone
else could easily come up with a current version that more people would
understand, but here goes:<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">We have a train with a steam engine that needs to deliver goods to
market. The steam engine is commerce, businesses producing products for market.
Since the steam engine runs on steam, it has to be heated, or manufactured. We
make the steam by shoveling coal (I know. Mean ole nasty coal.) into a fire box
to heat the water. I’ll tell you what. We’ll use wood instead. The people throwing
the wood are the employees and business owners. Everything is going great. The
fire box is hot, there is lots of steam to work the pistons that move the
wheels, and the locomotive is cruising down the tracks. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Everything is going great for a while. Pretty soon, the government
notices that the train is moving smoothly from point A to point B and thinks,
“We can use this train for passengers too!” So the government tells the train
that they have to carry passengers for free. It won’t affect them. They’ll just
fill up the empty spaces among the goods. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Things are going well for a while. Then the passengers start
getting thirsty. The government says to the employees, “You have plenty of
water in your boiler storage tank. We need some to give to the passengers so
they won’t die of thirst.” <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Well, the train keeps chugging along at a steady pace, so the
government allows more passengers to ride for free. This is a really long trip,
so the old and new passengers get thirsty again, and the government takes more
water from the storage tank. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">Pretty soon, as the government keeps adding passengers, the train
gets heavier and heavier. To keep the train moving, the employees and business
owners work harder, throwing more and more wood on the fire, and they’re
getting tired. Soon, the storage tank runs dry and the train breaks down. The
workers quit and the passengers, who became so accustomed to the free water, die
of thirst.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">The government has taken over $17,265,000,000.00 worth of water
out of the storage tank and it’s about to run dry. 52% of Americans are
receiving some form of government assistance, not including Social Security and
Medicare. Many of these people have been receiving these entitlements for more
than five generations.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<br /></div>
<div style="border-bottom: solid windowtext 1.5pt; border: none; mso-element: para-border-div; padding: 0in 0in 1.0pt 0in;">

<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">When the tank runs dry, they will starve
and will loot and kill to find food and water.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div style="border: none; margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in; mso-border-bottom-alt: solid windowtext 1.5pt; mso-padding-alt: 0in 0in 1.0pt 0in; padding: 0in;">

</div>
<div class="MsoNoSpacing">
<br /></div>
<div style="margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in;">
<span style="font-size: 13.5pt;">The government can correct all of this by reducing its size and
breadth and wean the people from the government teat. Will they ever do it?

<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">So, how are conservatives beating the IRS, not to mention the Fed? By buying private non-reportable physical gold & silver and sitting on it. In other words, they're getting some wealth out of the crooked casino and away from the grimy paws of the IRS. But in order to beat the IRS at their own game, they're buying “the right gold."</span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; line-height: 1.3em;"></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">First, let’s look at investing in "the wrong gold" -- gold on paper through an ETF -- and how that plays right into the hands of the IRS and Fed. You buy $100,000 in paper gold through your broker in the form of an ETF. Gold doubles, you sell and realize a 100k profit and now you get to send a check for $28,000 to the IRS. That’s right, you buy gold to protect yourself from inflation, inflation happens, your paper money buys less so your gold went up but, for some crazy reason, you have to give the IRS 28% of your “growth."</span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; line-height: 1.3em;"></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">This is partly why the IRS is a joke. The central planners make inflation to get growth, and then things rise because of that inflation, but then they want some of your growth back into their own pockets? One would argue that if the central planners are going make inflation all day by printing money that YOU should be allowed to benefit from the asset appreciation that ultimately helps YOU to counter their inflation and the rising price of the goods and services YOU need to survive. But instead they want to ding you twice – once through an unfair tax called inflation and then again by taxing you on the asset appreciation that inflation created.</span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; line-height: 1.3em;"></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">So, when we talk about the "right gold," we're talking about physical gold, which has none of the counter-party risk of ETF gold and is more shielded from the IRS. What many conservatives are doing is removing some wealth from the fractional system controlled by criminals and into an asset that not only lives outside the insolvent banking system and outside the paper fiat currency system, but is also invisible to the IRS. That's right, the IRS does NOT require the reporting of many types of gold and silver coin purchases and sales. So not only are conservatives protecting their money and wealth from systematic collapse when they buy gold and silver, they are shielding themselves from IRS scrutiny.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">Now that the Fed has announced they are barely tapering their enormous stimulus program, it's more obvious than ever that a few powerful men have hijacked our economic, financial and political structure. And here's a news flash: They aren’t socialists or capitalists. They’re criminals. The Fed's decision to continue buying $75 billion dollars worth of toxic banking assets and U.S. debt per month means the money-printing factory has just gone into high gear. Not only can you say goodbye to your paper-based savings and retirement, but the Fed just guaranteed $9 gas and $3800 gold.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<strong style="font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;"><span style="font-size: small;">The Fed's Spending Spree</span></strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;">Every month in 2013, the Fed increased its balance sheet by $85 billion, consisting of $40 billion in mortgage-backed securities and $45 billion in 10-30 year treasuries. <strong>The Fed is on pace to monetize roughly half of the US budget deficit in 2013. </strong></span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;">Putting it all together, the Fed's balance sheet has increased to $4 billion. </span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.3em;">A total increase of $1.17 trillion in one year! And tapering to $75 billion isn't going to change much.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; line-height: 1.3em;">The Fed has been promising to taper their stimulus program pending the improvement of the labor market. But as the labor market continues to stagnate, now the Fed has reversed course and announced that they will continue their reckless stimulus program (a.k.a "money printing") for the foreseeable future.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">So, how does Fed spending affect the value of your money? To clearly illustrate this point, let’s take a look at gold price action and debt accumulation since 2005. I can take this back all the way to 2000, or even further, and it will hold true. But then we would have to start inflation-adjusting the numbers. (The US Treasury was used to gather this debt data):</span></div>
<ul style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;">

<li><strong><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">2011 US Debt = 14T<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gold = $1,320/oz.<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gas = $3.15/gallon</span></strong></li>

<li><strong><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">2013 US Debt = 17T<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gold = $1,580/oz.<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gas = $4.50/gallon</span></strong></li>
</ul>
<div align="left" style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">And here’s where we’re going:</span></div>
<ul style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px;">
<li><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-weight: bold; line-height: 1.3em;">2014 US Debt = 18.8T</span><span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-weight: bold; line-height: 1.3em;">Gold = $2,200/oz.</span><span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; font-weight: bold; line-height: 1.3em;">Gas = $5.00/gallon</span></li>
<li><strong><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">2015 US Debt = 21T<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gold = $2,600/oz.<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gas = $6.00/gallon</span></strong></li>
<li><strong><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">2016 US Debt = 22.7T<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gold = $3,100/oz.<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gas = $6.75/gallon</span></strong></li>
<li><strong><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">2017 US Debt = 25.5T<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gold = $3,575/oz.<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gas = $7.50/gallon</span></strong></li>
<li><strong><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">2018 US Debt = 28T<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gold = $3,800/oz.<span style="white-space: pre;"> | </span>Gas = $9.00/gallon</span></strong></li>
</ul>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">So... we'll surge to $28 trillion in U.S. debt by 2018. <strong><span style="color: red;">Based upon the chart above, that will put gas at $9 and gold at $3800.</span></strong></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<strong><span style="font-size: small;">The Gift That Keeps On Giving</span></strong></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">As clear as day, this chart illustrates that Fed stimulus is truly the gift that keeps on giving if you are a holder of gold.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">They call it “Quantitative Easing," or QE. The reason QE is like the gift that keeps on giving for a holder of gold is because it blatantly debases the U.S. dollar. Allow me to illustrate:</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">Round one (QE1) started November 25, 2008 and ended March 31, 2010. During that 17-month period, a gallon of gas rose from $1.75 to $2.75 and gold rose from $725/oz. to $1125/oz.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">QE2 was started Nov 3, 2010 and lasted seven months until June 30, 2011. During the seven months of QE2, gas prices rose from $2.80 to $3.60 and gold from $1325 to $1700. QE2 was also marked by massive global food inflation and global riots. QE2 ended June 30, and we have had no further ‘major’ balance sheet expansion until mid-September 2012.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">In the last few weeks leading up to QE3 and the week after, gold rose 15%. During the summer of 2013, when the Fed starting backing off their "tapering" talk, gold rose a staggering 13% in a matter of months. The proof is in the numbers.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-size: small; font-weight: bold; line-height: 1.3em;">QE3 Will Not Improve Labor; It will Ruin The Economy</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;">This policy is complete insanity. By 2018 when the debt peaks, gas will be over $9 per gallon! <strong>These same factors put gold at $3800 by 2018!</strong> It debases the U.S. dollar significantly at a time when we need fiscal responsibility more than ever. But here’s the real insanity behind this kind of move and its perceived intentions: How does spending $85 billion a month buying toxic paper from banks even help the labor market anyway? How can the Fed even get away with another huge lie and distortion like this one?</span></div>

<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; line-height: 1.3em;">These policies aren’t really aimed at fixing the labor market or improving the real economy at all. These policies are designed to be bailouts for too-big-to-fail banks and to keep rates low so that the Fed can service $17 trillion in debt. This was a move that had complete panic all over it.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva;"><strong><span style="font-size: small;">Protecting Your Wealth from the Madness</span></strong></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: Optima, Lucida, 'MgOpen Cosmetica', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-top: 10px; text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; line-height: 1.3em;">To actually achieve sound wealth protection at this point, you need to look for true diversification (as opposed to banker diversification), by removing some of your wealth from “the system.” You need to get a portion of your wealth out of the insolvent banking institutions that don’t pay you any yield anyway, and then you need to buy some </span><strong>real money</strong><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; line-height: 1.3em;">. Some grass-fed, non-GMO, organic, real MONEY. The unprocessed kind. The kind that is not attached to all the political lies and corporate greed. Money free of debt and that can’t be printed by criminals. The kind that has outlasted every paper fiat currency ever invented by man for over 5000 years.</span></div>

<strong>"</strong><strong>The greatest trick central bankers ever pulled was convincing the world that they work for the public and not for the banks</strong><strong>."</strong><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; line-height: 1.3em;"> </span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; line-height: 1.3em;">If you presently do not own any gold, then you do not have the luxury of time. The foundation and the safety of our monetary, banking and financial systems has never been less sound. Never. And w</span><span style="font-family: verdana, geneva; line-height: 1.3em;">hile the media may try and convince you otherwise, I hope you have gained the ammunition to see the truth and make some decisions about how you will prepare for the inevitable math of the future. You don’t have to be an optimist to make money, and you don’t have to be a pessimist to protect it. You need to be a realist.</span></div>
